I am a registered nurse with license and certification, currently working here in the Philippines since July 2009 as a Staff Nurse, I was assigned in the Medical-Surgical Ward, at present I am in the Emergency Room for a year already in a 150bed-capacity tertiary hospital. I have plans to move to Canada as soon as possible, and enroll in your school and eventually wanted to pass the Health Skills Connect Challenge. I was advised by the placement agency to connect with a certain Mrs. Williamson at Drake Medox College and see if she can help me qualify for the Health Skills Connect Challenge. I was told that she often has some scholarship funding that I may be eligible for. And that if I am eligible for the challenge that will be my quickest and most affordable way to gain certification there. As informed, many people come out to do the challenge or arrange to do it as soon as they arrive there. Being certified through this process will give me some Canadian Healthcare experience and certification and this will help me get the interest of employers there.
Anybody please help me get in touch with Mrs. Williamson. I need her email address so that I could arrange the things needed to be done for me to move to Canada soon.

The Health Skills Connect Challenge (HSCC) is a great option for internationally trained health care professionals like yourself. The process consists of 4 exams, which take place over 2 days. The balance of the “challenge” is the clinical skills observation in a real work environment, such as a facility, and a clients home, for home care. Our Clinical Instructors organize this for you, and it typcally takes 2 to 3 weeks.
There are also opportunities to participate in a 3 hour review session, and to purchase the text and workbook typically used in the classroom setting.
In addition, if you are confident in your theory knowledge, you might wish to purchase a separate training component for personal skills.
There are scholarships available for our full time and part time program offerings.
Please continue to communicate with Cairrie, our Student Advisor (Extraordinaire!) so we can work with you to see you attain your goals for coming, and obtaining education and certification as a Residential Care AIde/Community Health Worker (Health Care Assistant).
