On behalf of the instructors and staff at Drake Medox College I would like to welcome the new group of full-time students. So far, I am very impressed with their enthusiasm, interest and desire to learn. This group is very diverse in terms of their ages, life experiences, cultural backrounds and interests. This makes for great class discussions, and I am very impressed with their progress to date. Keep up the great work class! I would also like to congratulate the previous full-time class who have passed their final exams with a class average of 84%, way to go! I do hope that practicum is all that you expected and more!
Sincerely,
Johanne Fata, LPN, RCA/CHW Instructor

Do your students form study groups to help each other

Dear Diane,
We do encourage our students to form study groups. It is not manditory as part of the curriculum, but it is highly recommended, and left up to the discretion of the students. This way, the students can rely on eachother’s knowledge and comprehension of the information being taught. I do know of students that get together and study on their days off, and this often leads into friendships that extend beyond school. Also, if students do not understand information, they are highly encouraged to discuss their concerns with their teacher in person after class, or if the student is studying at home, via e-mail. We also incorporate group discussions during class time as well. Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Johanne Fata, LPN, RCA/CHW Instructor
